Lyn Funnell has been passionate about writing for most of her life. At school she almost always earned a gold or silver star for her weekly compositions.

Her first publications appeared in magazines, followed by twelve collections of short stories and poetry. Many of her short stories feature an unexpected twist, and her work has won several prizes.

Beyond writing, Lyn enjoys entering competitions and has received numerous accolades for her original recipes. Her achievements include winning the Good Housekeeping Millenium Menu competition and being a runner-up in the BBC Chef of the Year competition. She was one of three runners-up in the Observer Food and Drink Magazine competition and has won prizes in the Fruits of France Recipe, Ocean Spray Cranberry recipe, Bernard Matthews Rustle up a Recipe, and Dorling Kindersley Autumn Recipes competition.

Additionally she reached the semi-final of Masterspud and was one of three finalists on The One Show Spag Bol competition, earning her the title of the UK Spag Bol Queen.

To date, Lyn has had published a total of fourteen books, the last four via Michael Terence Publishing.
